Remote monitoring of industrial boiler rooms

About the project

The client operates a network of industrial boiler rooms, most of which are located in basement facilities. To ensure safe and stable operation, the sites require 24/7 monitoring of temperature, pressure, and equipment status with real-time data transmission. Lack of proper monitoring can lead to emergency situations such as flooding, equipment failure or boiler explosions.

Key challenges of the facility: poor signal reception/transmission due to the specific location of the equipment, as well as the dependence of operational processes on a continuous Internet connection.

Solution

Results

  1. 01

    Remote connection from the data center to the programmable logic controller (PLC) of boiler rooms;

  2. 02

    24/7 monitoring and transmission of temperature, pressure and device status data;

  3. 03

    Router configuration control and the ability to quickly reboot devices via remote management;

  4. 04

    Flexible connection scenarios in case one of the routers loses connectivity;

  5. 05

    Reduced risk of downtime and emergencies, improving the predictability of industrial boiler room operations.

The RX44x2 LTE CAT.4 router enabled centralized monitoring of boiler rooms conditions, stable data transmission and an efficient alert system for failures and emergencies.
